Summertime Lavender and Mosquitoes
As the weather turns beautiful and we all go outside we have the mosquitoes waiting to bite. Being prepared with some lavender is a great idea.
A very good read about whether Lavender works
Lavender as a Mosquito Repellent: Does it Work?
Lavender flowers
Lavender flowers being crushed can produce a fragrance and essential oil that can be used to repel mosquitoes. This is so nice to know you are using a natural repellant and not a harsh chemical on your skin. Besides preventing mosquito bites, it can be calming and relaxing to your skin and mind.
Lavender attributes
Lavender also has other attributes as wound healing, soothing, antiseptic, and good for burns. Keeping a bottle year-round might just be what you are looking for in the winter month when the misquotes are not biting like they do in the spring and summer.
DIY
You can grow lavender in an outdoor garden or in indoor planters. Crush the flowers and apply the natural essential oil to bite-sensitive areas of the body, such as your waist band, exposed skin, ankles, and arms. Apply it by dropping some lavender essential oil on a clean cloth and rub it onto the skin.
