Chakras Are Energy Centers
Chakras are energy centers located along the mid-line of the spine, these energy centers connect our body to our spirit and provide vital life force energy and strength to the body. The word chakra comes from an ancient Indian language called Sanskrit which tells us that there are 7 main energy centers, referred to as spinning wheels of energy throughout the body. Yoga and other spiritual practices have created more awareness to the fact that we all have chakras and in fact we could not survive without them. There is a lot of information about chakras and how they support our daily lives, keep us healthy and not only live, but thrive when we are in balance. Our chakras are very important for a balanced life and keeping them in balance can be a challenge. Chakra 1 – Base or Root Chakra
The root chakra is located at the base of the spine just below the tail bone and is related to the large intestine, colon, kidneys, and reproductive glands and testes. It also relates to our life path, our connection to mother earth, our beautiful planet and our own body being grounded. When we have our awareness and and feel grounded, and present. We will naturally be in alignment and life will flow with ease and grace. When the base chakra is out of balance we may be unable to focus and have difficulty grounding and being fully present.
